Crawler rig in the field

Head

The heart of the rig, responsible for rotating the drilling tool. The head is typically strong and durable and can rotate at different speeds matched to soil type and depth. It has mechanisms for easy tool changes — bits or augers — which increases versatility.

Tracks

They let the rig move on different surfaces, from soft ground to harder, stony beds. Rubber tracks reduce the risk of damaging more delicate pavements and provide grip, stability and mobility.

Hydraulic cylinders for levelling

They allow precise positioning of the rig, which is key to accuracy and drilling efficiency.

Pumps

Needed to cool drilling tools and remove cuttings from the hole. Pumps must be strong enough to deliver the right volume of water under pressure for effective drilling and a clean hole.

Extra features such as 3-metre welded board rods, efficient control hydraulics, head lift of 1.5 metres per second, and a choice between a single- or twin-motor head make the crawler rig a highly functional, versatile tool for construction and geotechnics.
